LSGSA Policy Regarding Player, Manager,
Coach, Parent, and Spectator Behavior
The purpose of the Lee’s Summit Girls Softball Association
is to provide the girls of our community with a safe, recreational opportunity
to participate in sports, develop their personal physical skills, and have fun.
Because softball is a competitive activity, however, the boundary between action and aggression, sportsmanship and
ruthlessness can often be crossed by participants and spectators.
Please remember that none of the following will be
tolerated at any LSGSA practice, game, or function:
-
Negative Cheering – Any demeaning of
an opposing player or team.
-
Verbal Assault - Belittlement of any
game or practice participant.
-
Harassment Of Umpires – Any baiting or
questioning of a game official’s judgment or calls.
-
Unnecessary Physical Aggression – Any
physical action by a player that is deemed excessive aggression beyond that
required for a specific play.
-
Physical Assault - By anyone, at any
time.
The occurrence of any these behaviors that happen outside
of Legacy Park (during team practices or functions) should be reported to any
member of the LSGSA Board. Appropriate action will ensue.
LSGSA umpires will have the discretion to enforce any of
these bans during a game, and anyone guilty of violating these rules will be
immediately ejected from the game. Game ejection entails not only leaving the
playing area, but also that person’s departure from Legacy Park.
The LSGSA Board will determine, on an individual basis, if
further action is necessary. Should the board decide, managers, coaches, and
players may be banned for a game, a series of games, or for an entire season.
A case of physical assault will result in permanent
banishment of the perpetrator from all league activities, and legal prosecution
will be initiated.
