FAQ Sign-up questions: When and where are sign-ups? Sign-ups are held typically the first three weekends in February. Please visit the “Calendar” page for actual dates, times and location. How do I go about signing up my daughter for softball? Attend one of the sign-up dates, fill out the player contract and pay the registration fees. I want to manage or coach a team. How do I sign up for that? Attend one of the sign-up dates, fill out the managers/coaches form, fill out the DFS (Missouri State Department of Family Services) form. What steps do I need to do to sponsor a team? You may download the current Sponsorship form and read the letter from the “Sponsorship” page. Please fill out the form and either mail your form plus the appropriate fee to the Po Box listed at the top of this page. Or, you may bring the form and the appropriate fee to one of the sign-up dates. How do I lock up girls to play on my team? If you bring a sponsor into the league you are entitled to lock up or freeze 6 girls total. You will receive your lock up form at sign-ups after your sponsorship fee has been turned in. We have multiple girls who want to play together on the same team. How do we sign up our team. Unfortunately LSGSA does not currently allow more than 6 girls to be “locked up” on a team. All other players are assigned to the team through a blind draft. How many players will be on a team? There are typically any where from 11 to 13 players on a team. The actual number does vary based on the number of managers/coaches who sign up to help and the number of girls who sign up to play. Our target number is 11 to 12 girls per team. How much does the league cost? The current registration fee is $50.00 for T-Ball, $65.00 for all other divisions. Family rate is $95.00 for two or more girls. Participation in the league fundraiser is required. The fundraiser is selling a multi-piece box of candy. Each piece is sold for $1.00. If you do not want to participate you may have the option to “buyout”. The buyout is $30.00. Playing rules and structure questions: What are the divisions and how does my daughter fit into them? The division is based on the current grade you daughter is in. The divisions are as follows:
Division Grade When will I find out what team my daughter is on? Your manager should contact you within 24 hours after the draft. If you have not heard from your manager please contact your division rep. What are the rules for the league? Please visit the “Rules” page and either read them on line or download the PDF version. How many games do the teams play? The number of games depends on how many girls sign-up in a particular division. The number of teams drives the game schedule. In the past the lower divisions typically can play anywhere from 12 to 17 regular season games. Our goal is to provide the most number of games available to all divisions. Can my daughter play up a division? All girls are encouraged and strongly urged to play the division they belong in. Any girls wanting to play up must petition the board of directors to do so. How does the end of season tournament work?
The teams are seeded by their team number not how they ranked in the regular
season. The tournament is a double elimination game bracket. |
